2-10: France or Germany?

The current location of 2-10's icon on the map is on or near France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Switzerland.

So I thought about making a war zone autoscrolling level based on any of these (well, actually either France or Germany, but I can modify the poll if need be).

So what should 2-10 be based on? I've found the following tilesets so far.

* Mario is Missing (SNES) Paris background and buildings
* Castlevania Bloodlines layouts of Versailles Palace in France and a munitions factory in Germany.

This used to be a poll about particular capital cities Paris and Berlin, but that may prove next to impossible based on the graphics available for them. For this reason, I have restarted the poll with the countries instead.

Note that this poll will not explicitly determine what 2-10 is. It is just for public opinion.

Would've preferred it to take place in Amsterdam, but I highly doubt there will be sprites / backgrounds available for the setting. Not to mention to differentiate it from the rest of the world. Nevertheless I have used my vote on the other.

However, if I to choose either Berlin or Paris - I'd go with Paris. If you can work in the Eiffel Tower into the level, it could be a hybrid level that has both vertical or horizontal segments. Plus a perfectly serviceable sewer system.

I agree; the Eiffel Tower would make a good vertical platforming level.

I'd like to see a level set in Paris and with a section on the Eiffel Tower, but the problem is: where to find the BGS and tilesets needed?

Looking for tilesets, I've found the following so far:

EDIT: In retrospect, perhaps picking specific cities was too specific. If I come up with the graphics to do a capital city in particular, I'll remember that people preferred Paris. The poll is being reset with the countries instead of cities.

I vote France. It seems that that country has more stuff prepared for it's use - meaning it'll be easier for the level makers to incorporate.

I'd go with the Versailles Palace in France, the background seems to fit SMFR's dark theme rather nicely.
