MKF General Discussion Posting Guidelines

1.) READ THE FAQ BEFORE POSTING. If you have a question about MKF in general, chances are it is answered in the FAQ.

2.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW CHARACTERS. MKF already has so many characters planned, plus a whole lot more that are unfinished.

3.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW ENEMIES. As of July 2010, the MKF Dev team is focused on getting the game done, not adding any more unnecessary extra enemies.

4.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW GAME FEATURES. THIS INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: POWER-UPS, SUITS, LEVELS, AND GAME MODES. As noted above, the team is focused on getting the game done.

5.) DO NOT POST BUG REPORTS HERE. The MKF Bug Tracker is the place to do so.

6.)DO NOT ASK ABOUT RELEASE DATES FOR THE NEXT VERSION. We do not give out release dates. Why? If we announce a date and we miss it, people will get disappointed. New versions will be released as they get done.

Any post that contains any of these things will be binned on sight.

What is the basic story of MKF???

So I see people on this forum talking about characters like "Legion" and the "Villain Alliance"
I assume they have to do with the plot of the game, but what the heck IS the plot of the game? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I only just learned about MKF.

Don't really want to spoil stuff for the people who just found out about the game, but in short, there's a big bad guy named Legion fusing many video game universes, he has 3 main minions (Legion's Finest - Siren, Necromancer and The Fusionist), and the Villain Alliance members are mostly big bosses like Dr.Wily, Robotnik, etc., most of them have their own reasons to be against Mario and friends.

The game starts with the princess being kidnapped again, Mario and Luigi go rescue her and continue to later worlds to try and stop Legion, finding allies in the way (the other playable characters). The good guys team is called the Coalition and it was organized by Snake (not playable, but he will tell you useful stuff through the game).

The story used to be a lot more complicated with a lot more NPCs, such as there being more members of Legion's Finest and even an antihero team of video game characters consisting of counterparts to the playable character roster. This got trimmed down recently.

Wait! So Snake is still in the story plot. I seem to remember reading about Snake being out of MKF due to too much complications in the story. Truth be told, I would like him to be in the plot.

We're not going to spoil any of the details past just the general plot synopsis. You'll have to wait until the full version of the game to find out anything more than what we've told you.

Legion wants cake.  Then he finds out that the cake is a lie.  He gets mad and begins fusing all of the videogame worlds together.  He also sends his minions out to locate a real cake, for surely there must be cake in the 11 worlds.  Legion then meets Bowser.  He finds out that the Princess bakes cakes.  So he commands Bowser to kidnap the Princess.  Now the Bros hear about the kidnapping and that's where the game begins. 

Sorry I had to spoil the plot a bit.  :V

From what I can tell by piecing these posts together, The plot is:
There is this evil guy called Legion, and he is evil. He fuses all the video game worlds together for shits and giggles.
He forms this thingy with all the villains called the villain alliance. He makes Bowser kidnap Peach, Mario Bros go off to save them, but also realizes all the worlds fuse together so he has all the heroes join a team HE makes.
Am I at least close?

I don't think Mario is making the team.  He just rescues the heroes.

Last I heard of Bowser's part, he kidnaps Peach to keep her safe from Legion and it's Kamek that has control of Bowser's minions since Kamek joined up with Legion, but Bowser did not.
