MKF General Discussion Posting Guidelines

1.) READ THE FAQ BEFORE POSTING. If you have a question about MKF in general, chances are it is answered in the FAQ.

2.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW CHARACTERS. MKF already has so many characters planned, plus a whole lot more that are unfinished.

3.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW ENEMIES. As of July 2010, the MKF Dev team is focused on getting the game done, not adding any more unnecessary extra enemies.

4.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW GAME FEATURES. THIS INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: POWER-UPS, SUITS, LEVELS, AND GAME MODES. As noted above, the team is focused on getting the game done.

5.) DO NOT POST BUG REPORTS HERE. The MKF Bug Tracker is the place to do so.

6.)DO NOT ASK ABOUT RELEASE DATES FOR THE NEXT VERSION. We do not give out release dates. Why? If we announce a date and we miss it, people will get disappointed. New versions will be released as they get done.

Any post that contains any of these things will be binned on sight.

They're supposed to turn into normal coins if you already took them and re-enter the stage.

Try entering a different level and then go back, they all should reset.

Hmmm... tried doing that but no bueno, they still register as normal coins. Thanks for the suggestion though. Just going to have to make a note for next playthrough.

Anyways, for the next question... On planet Zebes (9 - 4) there exists an end with a "?" box and a pipe. Upon entering the pipe it leads to a sort of shaft with a camoflauged(sp?) passage that if playing with mario, it seems only tiny mario can enter it as it only has one block of heighth. You have to jump on the metroid that appears after a few seconds in order to get the altitude to reach the the passage.

Anyways, just wondering if this consists of the intended design (thinking that it might lead to the secret exit)... or do the actions mentioned above correspond to a sequence break?

We can clarify if the details don't ring any bells.

That's just a shortcut.

It's not like sequence-breaking would be inappropriate to a Metroid-based level, anyway.

The key to beating the yellow giant has to do with learning the pattern of his parts when he switches sides of the room. It stays the same everytime. If you can learn to dodge that everytime then shooting his eye will probably become cake.

Oh and Del, wanted to let you know that I think that we did kind of break sequence with that zebes shortcut... you guys intend for the player to go through it after getting the yellow key, right? Well, the first time I found it I ended up going from right to left... meaning, as little mario (no powerups, or reserves) ended up waiting for the metroid to appear in the right position and then jumping on it at the right position in order to give mario the altitude to get up into the passage lol

`

Not sure where you'd like this to go, but just wondering the title of the BGM in "fortress of traps"... sounds something from castlevania but have no clue the name of the song lol

Hi. I just got 0.5 of MKF and I'm really enjoying it. I was just wondering if that Chzo Mythos level was included in it.
This is the level I am talking about:

Thank you in advance!

Only levels and features that predate the Castle Lololo video, save the announcement and release videos, are in v0.5.

Doesn't really belong in bug reports, as I have no idea what's causing it, so I figured I may as well ask here, see if there's any ideas about what's causing these technical difficulties.

Just a few days ago, I was able to run MKF smoothly at 60FPS while recording, with not a single bit of lag. Now, with no programs open, I'm lucky if I get 20 FPS on the map screen. I've tried redownloading the game completely, and I'm still getting terrible FPS. I don't know what's going on. I haven't installed any new problems, I've actually cleared quite a bit of room off my hard drive, but MKF is just refusing to give me playable FPS even with frame skips. I haven't had a single problem running the game until today. Any ideas?
