MKF General Discussion Posting Guidelines

1.) READ THE FAQ BEFORE POSTING. If you have a question about MKF in general, chances are it is answered in the FAQ.

2.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW CHARACTERS. MKF already has so many characters planned, plus a whole lot more that are unfinished.

3.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW ENEMIES. As of July 2010, the MKF Dev team is focused on getting the game done, not adding any more unnecessary extra enemies.

4.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW GAME FEATURES. THIS INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: POWER-UPS, SUITS, LEVELS, AND GAME MODES. As noted above, the team is focused on getting the game done.

5.) DO NOT POST BUG REPORTS HERE. The MKF Bug Tracker is the place to do so.

6.)DO NOT ASK ABOUT RELEASE DATES FOR THE NEXT VERSION. We do not give out release dates. Why? If we announce a date and we miss it, people will get disappointed. New versions will be released as they get done.

Any post that contains any of these things will be binned on sight.

Yep. You got me. I'm that dread complaining demon Lego. I'm shocked that I left that much of an impact that you actually went to whatever trouble just to check up on me, but I really don't see how that's relevant at all. I'd like to think comments beside "THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER" would actually be at least considered no matter who wrote them. Because shocker, I actually like this project. It's one of the most ridiculously ambitious fangames of all time, and I honestly hope it succeeds. I make my posts because I see areas that could stand to be changed to make the game better and more enjoyable. (For reference, my favorite platformer is DKC2, a game that's tough as hell, but fast paced, and never feels unfair.) Is it abrasive? Possibly. But reading your posts where you state that you can't wait to see people FAIL at your levels, I think the tone is necessary.

(And really, there's like, what, ten people at most who use the game discussion forum that aren't on the staff? Of course you're not going to get many complaints about anything here.)

PS: If I'm reading this right, (please say I'm not,) you guys seriously identified a possible problem, then decided to leave it the way it was JUST to spite me and my two comments on the video? That is so childishly beautiful, and I'm touched that you guys care so much. <3

PPS: I honestly hope I get to eat my words about Zebes, but from how smug you are about it, I don't look forward to being proven right.

We don't mind complaints or feedback, we just ask people to be polite, that's all, do you really need to rage and rant and curse and use caps every time you see something you don't like or agree? Criticism isn't taken seriously when it comes from people who give it in the most obnoxious way possible, it's simple.

And no, I asked Lars and he said he actually reduced that robotnik boss' HP after he realized it did in fact have too much HP when testing, but for some reason the fix was reverted (it happens often in the master source when we merge levels or pass on the source, God knows how many times I've fixed Rush Jet), I was just guessing the HP stayed like that since your criticism, like I said, was never taken seriously.

Btw we also tweaked the Siren a bit already since more people agreed about it, we'll see what can we do about Clawgrip, also this is the last time I'll ask you, please be more polite, there's no need to throw a tantrum (talk about being childish).

haha, well that goes only for Wart's Nightmare and Palace of Dark Delight, which are optional levels specially designed for those few players who enjoy a challenge, the rest of my levels I try to make them balanced according to the difficulty curve we're trying to achieve, but yeah that comment was just because of my reputation on making evil levels (which is odd, since none of my levels was playable until 0.5 was out), I'm sorry if that caused any misunderstandings regarding the designs

Lol, well to be fair you don't get to fight them all at once, you can take them down 1 by 1, and those Metroids were nerfed, any character (even non stompers) can jump on them to keep them at bay

Also they're way overrated, just hitting them once with an ice beam is enough to kill them, they're only overpowered when there are no ice weapons around, in which cases you should just run as fast as you can, not to mention it's W9 (you must've beaten more than 150 levels before you get to that point, you should be more than decent at playing MKF by then), and you get sci-fi suits too.

Edit: I forgot, there's also 8 cherries before that room, and a couple more in it, so if you're careful with the cherry counter you can get a starman and kill them all quickly, so yeah I'd say it's pretty balanced as long as you play carefully.

btw so far i beat every single lvl get every single exit and killed every single bossand now i can say yea sometimes the difficulty was insayan but man that make every single lvl woth more flavor and i loved it i hope yea there will be changes of course but im pretty sure the difficulty will be fair enough XD

PD yea i figured out the thing about the cherries but the next room evading metroids and pirate claws was crazy X_X

I enjoy putting myself in exotic and awesome environments, then I make people play fan generated games they never knew existed.

lol, yeah it's hard but fun to dodge all of that stuff, that part sucks for characters with knockback though, but it's a World Boss level after all

try playing as MegaMan with SkullMan's weapon equipped, or Mario with a tanooki suit and use the statue to dodge everything

I remember when I first got up to the bombship I thought the level was near the end and I didnt think it could get any harder when the bombship started looming over me.
I was like oh you are fucking kidding me!

I would say the part of Hell's Prominence that gave me hell was the part with the Eeries and the platforms that either are moving up or down. I swear it's dang near impossible to get through that without getting hit unless you have flight and or Tanooki power ups. If I get through the gauntlet there without getting hit, its always those last two before the Thwomp that hit me.  D8 Now I am sure some people can get through that no problem (yes, I am looking at YOU Del *points*) but Sheesh! O-o maybe removing one or two eeries there might balance that out enough where getting hurt without specific power ups isn't nearly inevitable.
My characters have no relation to Veggie Tales... just because some of them lack limbs does not mean they are related, inspired by, or knockoffs of Veggie Tales.

With a little patience you can get through that part pretty easily.  I did with Arthur.  The blue torches and shield weapons make it cakewalk.

I was trying to finish it with mario and my god it is hard ive probably ben through about 50 lives give or take during that level.
In the end I got fed up and just finished it with metaknight but I do intend to go back to it at some point

I counted the number of unique posters in just the three most recent topics on this board just before the time of this post: "Something about the Library", "What are your favorite levels in v0.5?", and "A question to everyone". In just three topics I went over your estimate.

There's a lot more people fine with things that you alone complain about than you think.

For me, the big problem with the game's difficulty is that the program often seems like it can't handle it.  In any game this big, there will be some glitches jumping to the forefront, and when the intentional difficulty is being supplemented by a series of glitches that actually make the game hard to play, that can be a huge problem.

Emphasis on "huge."  Please see my own thread.
