No, no, it's not coming out anytime soon, but there is a thing or two confirmed about it.

It looks like it'll be completely rewritten to increase efficiency. However, backwards-compatibility is going to suffer--while it will be possible to import GM8 files, a lot of things could be changed during the rewrite, meaning that quite a bit of code from old projects won't work.

Mixed blessing is mixed.
