Lately, I have been seeing a lot of clamoring for MKF v0.5 Beta from the forumgoers here. I will ask you to be patient. That means:
*No asking for release dates.
*No posting any topics about the state of 0.5 until the devs themselves say something about it.
*No prodding the devs for information not yet released about v0.5.

As long as it's been since v0.4.1 (October 2010), the devs have other things besides working on a fangame that they will not get paid for. It will be ready when it's ready.

Don't make this any harder on the devs than it already is. Please be patient.

On that note I'd like to apologize; I've announced like three-four times now (including once or twice on the old boards) that v0.5 was coming "relatively soon", but each time I seem to keep underestimating just how long it's taking to get all the necessary work done. A lot of the time it seems like it shouldn't take that long to complete a certain step of the process, and then Game Maker just up and throws us a curve ball that we end up having to take extra time to sort out.

This is probably the shining example of exactly why we don't give release dates; because even we have no idea just how long it's going to take to get everything working the way we want it. Even if we try to guess we have no way to predict what kind of weird problems might pop up that would delay progress.

That said, we are close to finishing in terms of overall things we need to do. We just need to finish the first round of bug-testing, send it back through the testers for another pass, fix any last problems that spring up, and hopefully we should be ready to go.

Lastly, we'd like to give special thanks to those of you in the community who have been patient with the development process all this time. We hope everything will be worth the wait.

Go forth, and read from the Book of Gord. Bask in the wisdom and glory that is The Gord.

awesome Lars. I just hope my computer can run it Decently XD Good to know about the progress with the beta testing. with how long it has been since it has been in, there just HAS to be a ton of stuff, especially because of all the Temporary Testers added on this round and it still taking a couple of months O.O
My characters have no relation to Veggie Tales... just because some of them lack limbs does not mean they are related, inspired by, or knockoffs of Veggie Tales.

what? what shameless plug? I don't see a shameless plug!

best kind of time to be running on. Think of it as making an illegal danish. It takes like... Six months to make. But it's so good. *waits for illegal danish*

No problem.  And hopefully everyone knows it will be worth the wait.  Creating a great game like this will get us fans hyped, but what most people don't know is that bugging the creators will NOT make it come any faster.  I do admit that I was part of that group once but this is finally gonna get big.  Take as much time as you need, as everyone does sometimes.

i personally dont understand why ppl are getting so impatient about the next update for MKF, im personally STILL enjoying 0.41 and i dont see that changing anytime quick, so anyone that are doggin' the fusion team for not working on it 24/7 to keep up with your demands, go play something else and get back to your lives instead of harassing who i think are the Argonauts of Video Gaming. keep up the great work guys, take your time and plz dont quit over the ramblings of the more "immature" fans, we're not all like that  B)

That's an interesting description.  I'll have to remember that one.

The Arognauts? Are we referring to the octopus, the mythological Greek characters, the Naples military order, the codename for the Yalta Conference, the submarine class or the nuclear reactor class?

We appreciate the lavish praise, but in reality, it will be a while before we get as popular as Super Mario Crossover, I Wanna Be the Guy, and Super Smash Flash. We're just a blip on the radar compared to those fangames.

Yeah, the popularity hit early, then everyone forgot about Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. I'd imagine some even think the project is dead.

We'll get the game out to some LPers with lots of subscribers once the game is finished, and see what happens from there.

DSPgaming or SSoHPKC would be good choices to get MKF the best publicity.
i can't seem to think of any others I know that don't just have cult followings,
but those guys would help too.

I was actually thinking. How can mkfusion get more popular. The only way anyone would find out about this game is doing very dense internet surfing. I think we should come up with ways to tell the world about this awesome game !!
