I never said I was going to show off multiple screenshots. I said I was contemplating showing one mock screenshot I had put together to see if certain elements looked alright. And I'm no longer contemplating- I've decided not to show it off. You guys are just WAAAY too eager to find out what I'm working on- it's almost terrifying.

I love the VB Wario land level it looks awesome, but I am going to miss the whole jumping into the background and then into the foreground thing. However I am happy it has a level in this great project and the time and effort you put in to recreate such a high quality full color version it. I am anticipating the chance to play it in future releases.

Just a quick update here;
Despite what certain people might be saying recently, I've been making some good progress on my current level project as of late. I can't really give an estimate as to when it will be done, but I hope to have it at least close to completion within the next couple weeks.
While a bit rudimentary, this level happens to contain the very first cutscene to be developed for MKF. It's short, and there's no dialogue, but it's the first step towards finally working the story into the game. I hope to put together some more elaborate ones in the future.
Unfortunately I can't really provide you guys with anything more substantial until it's done, so you guys will just have to be patient until then. I assure you, it will be worth the wait.

If this doesn't get you excited, then let me tell you that this is only half true. This is the first MKF cutscene that will be shown to the public - definitely not the first cutscene that's been finished :)

And no, that old cutscene from way back with Dr. Light and Dr. Wily doesn't count, as it never made it into the source and used an old cutscene engine that got scrapped.

Don't forget that Dr. Wily cutscene, too. Even if it's mostly dialogue.

Oh, heh, I didn't really count the Dr. Wily one since it was actually the player standing there while he talks, instead of an "actor" object. I guess I thought of it more as just an NPC that shows up before battle.

Well anyway, since I've been rather secretive with a lot of my most recent levels, I think to even things out my next project after I finish my current one will be one I can actually show my progress on. There's a couple of my already-announced levels I've been kind of in the mood to get started on, and a couple ones I started already but haven't worked on in a while, as well as a few existing levels in MKF that are in desperate need of revamps.
So once I pick one and start on that you guys'll get to see occasional progress for once, instead of constantly wondering what the hell I'm working on and why it's taking so damn long.

We're used to it by now. At least in a collective sense as opposed to you specifically.

Alright, folks, it's been a while, but I've finally got another video up to show everyone. And to make things even better, this video showcases not just one, but three different levels, all for World 7.
What we have here is three successive stages: 7-3, 7-4, and 7-5, all done by different developers, although I coded the boss for one and fixed a bunch of stuff in another, so I had a hand in all three.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snUFTaaoFPE" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snUFTaaoFPE</a>
World 7-3: Hydrocity Zone
This one's one of Gladia's levels, and I'm sure he's already pretty much shown off the whole thing via screenshots in his own thread. I've made a couple tweaks to it and coded the boss at the end, so now it's fully completed.

World 7-4: Marble Zone
A surprise level from Magnemania, Marble Zone captures the essence of the original Sonic 1 stage. He's got a little bit of everything; the crushers, spikes, spiked chandeliers, burning platforms, pushable blocks, even the hallway with magma that chases you through it. It's got plenty of well-hidden secret areas to look for as well. You face Robotnik in a modified Egg Mobile at the end, that looks fearsome, but is rather simple to defeat.

World 7-5: City Escape
This is the project I've been keeping under wraps for the past month or two. It was on the original level list, then taken off due to no one being willing to work on it, then put back as a replacement to Hill Top Zone since I was already working on it as an unofficial level.
City Escape (based on the Sonic Adventure 2 level, and not the Sonic Generations remake) illustrates just how bad things have gotten since Sonic was ejected from his world at the beginning of the game. Robotnik has completely taken over the city, replacing the former G.U.N. Troops with his own badniks, and building his own E.G.G. Truck to patrol the streets. Much of the city's billboards and posters have been changed to include Robotnik's propaganda. And three familiar foes are present to greet the Coalition upon their arrival.
Although this level has multiple paths to take, like any Sonic level, much of it is fairly straight-forward, allowing Sonic players to get some serious speed on their way through. As such, it can also be completely rather quickly despite it's overall size.
At the end of the level, the player has to face off against the gargantuan E.G.G. Truck... only it's not alone.
