Should that pipe be more yellow to match the pipe its connected to?  The grey stands out too much to me.  But that's my opinion.
I enjoy putting myself in exotic and awesome environments, then I make people play fan generated games they never knew existed.

I find it funny how you choose Oil Ocean Zone, a level infamous for being very mazelike and confusing, to be connected through the mazelike and confusing pipe maze from Mushroom Kingdom.

Genius detail! XD

Oh my god, that is the best.  I love how it's a chunk of something so obviously foreign, but it fits in that space perfectly.

I never had any issues navigating Oil ocean. Either way! I'm glad to see one of my favorite sonic levels getting some rep.

MKFcraft will be back and better than ever on my 1st.

That looks and feels incredibly faithful to the original Oil Ocean.  (I couldn't tell if it had the same layout as the original, but I'm assuming it doesn't.)
I really like the look of those Badnik Goombas.  I don't recall seeing them before . . . are they new?
I was curious about how you would handle the oil.  It looks like it works pretty well, though Luigi may have a special advantage in this case.  Can non-swimming characters get out of it?  (Sonic could.)
The boss fight looks like a perfect recreation of the original Oil Ocean boss, and, more importantly, it looks like it works pretty well for MKF, or at least for stomping characters.  Will there be Stomp Boots?
It's also nice to see the signpost . . . and the bonus thingies!

@ Zero

Yeah it's pretty much the same Oil Ocean from Sonic 2. Only real difference seems to be the enemies and their placement.

For the most part I like how everything animates.. it's at a good speed for this level. In general most of the things in MKF move rather slowly [I know it's done for the other characters, but it's just the only thing that bugs me about the game]

Only think I can think of  is maybe tighten the swaying the Laser Cannon does. Make it a little bit closer.

Again, another great level =D

Great video Lars! Isn't it funny when in both games Eggrobo/Dr. Robtnik's machine blows up the oil doesn't explode into flames? ^_^

...The same layout? Are you kidding? The original Sonic levels were massive; there's no way I could even attempt to replicate the entire layout of one in MKF at all.

It's just a standard Goomba skin I whipped up.

The oil itself is just an insubstantial decoration over a layer of invisible quicksand. There's no swimming required.

Yes, although it's also vulnerable to other non-projectile forms of attack.

Awesome stage design Lars! This is a perfect world exit to world 7. It is pretty simple compared to later zones like Collison Chaos, but still challenging and fun. I also love the boss.
One question though: Why did you decide to choose the Mecha Robotnik as a boss? Not that it matters at all, but I am still interested in that. Does it have certain story related reasons?

Robotnik himself is busy working on various plans for himself and the Villain Alliance back in Mobius, so he sends his Egg Robos to fill in for him in other-worldly affairs.
In other words, Egg Robo shows up in Fusion levels, Robotnik shows up in pure Sonic levels.

That is... AWESOME!

Makes me wish there was a Chemical Plant Zone (not counting Industrial Nightmare)...

Anyway, with that out of the way, I've gone back to work on one of my previous level projects I've already mentioned before.

Awazon Caverns.

I'm going to be working on this, plus a few other things I'd rather not spoil at this moment.
