Man that looks really good, too good. Like most people I have not played the virtual boy wario land but who says you have to play the game to say the level looks great. Wait I just have 1 question I have to ask that place you used for the world 7 exit is that oil ocean zone? It has been along time since i have played any sonic.

It is the Oil Ocean Zone from Sonic 2.  :V

Yup, it's Oil Ocean. Alternatively, one could think it was the Bomb Factory if one has only played SOnic The Fighters. XD

Bit of a minor update. It's been kind of slow lately, but I've got a couple things in the works at the moment.
I'm currently piecing together two of those classified Minus World levels I mentioned in this topic a ways back. Still not going to say what they are yet, but development is going pretty good. One of them is a collaboration with Del, and he's already finished his part of it, so it's technically half done, and the other one's going to have a pretty simple structure and so shouldn't be too hard to put together.

Past those two I've got a little something special in the works for World 7. It was originally meant to be my first "unofficial" level- an extra level that wasn't actually meant to be in MKF at all, that I was working on mostly just to see if I could pull it off. But there was a Dev Team discussion regarding W7, and we've decided to drop Hilltop Zone from the list and replace it with a different level, something from outside the Genesis era. This ended up being my "unofficial" level, which is now "official". Not saying what it is, though, I'm leaving that as a surprise.

Yeah, maybe I do tend to keep my level plans "classified" a little often. But while part of me would like to be like Gladia and show off multiple screenshots of my progress, I just prefer to just reveal everything at once for a much bigger impact. I'm just a stickler for showmanship, I guess.

Go forth, and read from the Book of Gord. Bask in the wisdom and glory that is The Gord.

That is, if someone's willing to sprite the tiles, objects, and background in time for the final release.
my best bet is a sega saturn level or a dreamcast level. but he did say "classified", so it might not even be sonic themed for all we know. :/

EDIT: Talk about sonic themed, has amy rose been scrapped or has someone started working on her. I decided to code her and help with the project but, I'm just trying to make sure.

i would say if you feel like coding her then just do it.  If the devs like her they will use her.  There are no garentees she will be accepted but you can try.
I enjoy putting myself in exotic and awesome environments, then I make people play fan generated games they never knew existed.

Here's a link to the source one uses to code in MKF.
Good luck on coding in Amy Rose.

By the way, I've coded Airman in his entirety, I've created a somewhat functional Mega Man game engine, and I've programmed a game usable as a study tool for language learning from scratch.

And I wouldn't touch the playable characters with a ten-foot pole.

Not happening. First, Generations is too recent. Second, all the levels in Generations are remakes of levels from other Sonic games anyway. Why make a level based on a remake of a level instead of on the original level itself?

That is, if someone's willing to sprite the tiles, objects, and background in time for the final release.

...The hell are you talking about??? He's hoping that was the level I'm working on, not simply hoping that someone makes it at some point. If somebody just decides to put that level together themselves, it's probably not going to get into the game anyway, regardless of whether or not they're "in time for final release". Hell, the level I am working on wasn't even going to get in if not for a random coincidence.

No, it's a Sonic level.

Heh. If I had a nickel for every time I've heard someone say something like that...
Seriously, you're going to try coding a character? Half the Dev Team has no idea how to deal with character coding, let alone a random forum member. Most random forumers who say something like that give up after failing to code a simple enemy. So unless you're either already a skilled coder and someone good enough with Game Maker to understand MKF's tangled mess of code, or else have the incredible resolve to actually teach yourself enough coding to reach that point, I'd seriously suggest reconsidering that statement.

I say, give him a chance. If he succeeds, we get Amy sooner; if not, the only thing that would be lost is TwinTails' time

^ TBH I have Heavy doubts.....

Anyway Lars I look forward to whatever Sonic stage you have in store, although I'm disappointed that Hilltop was scrapped since it's one of my favorite stages in Sonic 2.

First, you've got to make sense of the tangled jumbled mess of character code.

Good luck man, you'll need it.

Actually, Hilltop Zone was basically Emerald Hill with caves and lava... not a big loss. XD

NoBody was working on Hill Top Zone?  I didn't know he was a level designer!
