Interesting. This should prove amusing when things come to completion.

@GFC: The plans for reworking Castle Wolfenstein have actually been on the board for some time, since back when Pouncer was still around. Him and I have already discussed most of his original plans and things that can be changed. It's... just taken me a while to get around to it.

@Keiang: Guess all you like, but I'm not going to confirm or deny anything until I actually get the levels put together. So try not to get your hopes up in the event something doesn't turn out to be what you thought it was.
Oh.. except this. I will deny this: I'm not making an Atari Porn level. Hell no.

-World 3-S2: Time Tower
This is a level I used to have on the list, but then it was lost in the "Great Scrapping"... mostly because I didn't really have any decent ideas for it. But then inspiration struck me later on, and I came up with some great ideas for said level. Also we had just gained some free space due to scrapping a few other levels, so I decided to take this level back from the scrapheap and stick it back on the list.
Basically, this is going to be one long fortress level, and possibly one that won't be accessible until after you've beaten the game the first time. I won't say much, but this level will be tying together ALL of the main MM series in one extravagant package...
That's my guess. (damn word minimum)

Quote from the Zetaboards (not by me):

"Oh so a beer level's fine but my idea for a level based of atari porn is stupid."

Relevant quote is relevant.  :P

Expect the glorious and rather relentless comeback of one of MKF's more well-known scrapped Fusion "boss" ideas...

Hey, all, Lars here. It's been a while since my last update; I've been kind of busy getting the master source ready for v0.5 and everything these past couple months, so I haven't really been able to devote much time to level design.
now that I'm finished with that (for now, anyway), I can pick right up where I left off.

That said, I've got a bit of a special holiday surprise for you all. Given what season it is, I've devoted my efforts to putting together the previously classified World 8-S3, a level surprisingly appropriate for this time of year. It's a level that was originally planned by Weird Bananas, that I decided to hang onto until now.

It's World 8-S3: Snowdriftland.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPiwmVit5Ps" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPiwmVit5Ps</a>

It's actually based on a Flash game published by Nintendo, that functioned as an "advent calender" of sorts. During each day of December, the next level of the game would become available. This game was only available once during the holiday season of 2006, and then once more as an "indie games edition" last year, and has been unavailable to play since then.

The level is a fairly easy one, with simple enemies, no time limit, and multiple paths and hidden areas. Stomp boots are also provided so non-stompers can bounce off of the sea otters.

And no, this does not mean that we're going to start making levels based off of Flash games now. This was a rare exception.

Never heard of this game until now! Looks really fun to play!

The kamikaze birds are pretty much the only thing that needs fixing. :D

nice! weren't some of those penguins like the SMW Dinos which you could stomp twice? I don't remember lol, only played this game once and for a few minutes

and yeah I guess some sort of warning for those birds will do, damn they're huge too o_O

edit: btw will those seals be stompable by any kind of character and put an info block about it or something? or are you gonna give stomp boots?

Nintendo made a Flash game?  Holy dang!  I thought they hated computers!
Anyway, if that game was discontinued, it seems appropriate that it be immortalized in MKF . . . and it looks like a good level, too.

Wait...Snowdrifland was made by Nintendo!? O_o

I could've sworn that it was just some indie game made by one guy. Oh well, nice level Lars.

No, it's cell phones they hate.

But, seriously, that's an interesting level.

I've always thought that if something serious happened with Nintendo in the console market, they could go into PC games.

Hoooo hohohoho! Merry Xmas, everyone!! "Santa Clars" is here with a special present for everyone!!
It's the penultimate level in World 3:
Wily Citadel 4.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EK2iM-rR6vA" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EK2iM-rR6vA</a>
This is where events in World 3 finally come to a head. The player will have to go through an endurance match in the infamous "Wily Portal room" against 8 unique Robot Masters, before finally facing off against the evil doctor himself in one of his Wily Machines. We're not going to spoil just what machine you're going to have to fight, though, nor will we reveal any other plot-sensitive details about the stage. You're all just going to have to wait until we release the level, whenever that may be.
