As far as a fan character is concerned, I would be a bit iffy on that, seeing as they aren't official characters. But like my main man Del said, it's up to the devs to pick out the skins they like. So I'll have to say no for right now, but anyone who makes such a skin should post it on the board so the devs can see it. Who knows, if it's of high quality, it may make the final cut! 

And I'll remove SMW Luigi for now then.

You made a mistake in the sign up sheet.  Only NES SMB3 Mario was done by me and GMM, but Shy Guy was 100% done by me.

I've always loved the sprites from Super Mario Bros. 2.   
Anyone agree? He just looks better this way.

They are pretty nice sprites, though the gold tones seem a little out of place.  The one thing I don't really like about them, though, is that in the standing pose, Mario's head is in a 3/4 perspective, but his body is in a side perspective.  SMB3's sprites were more simplistic, but they made better use of perspectives, which is why I really like the SMA4 edits that MKF uses.

Are you thinking of making a Super Mario Bros. 2 skin for Mario?  Cuz I think it would be great.
