SMFR General Discussion Posting Guidelines

BEFORE POSTING, READ THESE GUIDELINES:

1.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW CHARACTERS. The roster of Mario and Peach are set in stone until the game is completed.

2.) NO LEVEL SUGGESTIONS TOPICS. We are currently not taking any level suggestions. However, you are free to make levels to your liking with the provided public S.A.U.C.E. You can even contribute levels to the game itself if you follow our guidelines and the level fits nicely in an empty slot.

3.) The only gimmick we will feature prominently in Super Mario Fusion Revival are vehicles/mounts. We will not add any more gimmicks, like the commonly suggested Yoshi Egg abilities and a wall jump for Mario.

4. DO NOT POST BUG REPORTS HERE. The SMFR Bug Tracker is where all bug reports and issues should be posted, except for S.A.U.C.E. bugs at this time.

Any post that contains any of these things will be binned on sight.

Yikes at the Tryclyde there.  Guess it won't be as effortless as it was in SMB2 (once you built a wall, anyway).
One of the things I really like about SMF as opposed to MKF is that you can have puzzles based around specific power-ups, flight power-ups especially.  I guess that's possible in MKF, but it's not really used as much.
EDIT: Also, did you combine two tracks for the underground music?  It took me a little while to figure out what I was listening to.  It sounds a little weird, but I kind of like it.

Awesome level, awesome boss. I really like the clever and complicated puzzle. Very good work on this level CaptCoco and Aura!

Have you noticed that there are two tracks playing at once in the underground sections?

Yeah, me too. It's the classic Super Mario underworld theme mixed in there. I say it's a nice little touch.

If there's enough demand, the A Clashing of Waves/SMB Underground mashup can be put in the official soundtrack on v0.4.

I'm already starting to get requests for the mp3 of the mashup, so here it is: http://www.sendspace.com/file/6u4t5c

The mashup is really nice.

Also, the door before the Tryclydius battle, there is a statue of what appears to be Rudy the Clown in the background. Does that have any significance, or is it just part of the stage tiles that Aura and CC was using?

Since some people have been asking for it:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lppiQE_Osuo" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lppiQE_Osuo</a>

MP3 download: http://www.sendspace.com/file/z2jtw9

This is a mashup of A Clashing of Waves (Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia) and the underground BGM from Super Mario Bros. 3.

It begins with the 8-bit NES drum sequence for the SMB3 underground BGM, then it transitions gradually to A Clashing of Waves with the SMB underground melody superimposed over it.

I am aware the keys of the songs do not match, but it's somewhat close enough.

I do like how the "Boss" Of Living Fortress is essentially the fortress itself.

It's a good demonstration of how a "boss" doesn't have to be a big, powerful enemy, which is appropriate to the less-combat-oriented gameplay of SMF:R.

Indeed; most professional game companies probably wouldn't have made such an abstract boss quite as interesting as this. You honestly get the sense that the fortress itself has malicious intent. Especially at the part where the pipe you're travelling down is systematically smashed by advancing walls.
