GENERAL GAME INFO

The game is fully completed.

Megaman: Day in the Limelight 2 is a fangame that allows you to play as the Robot Masters from Megaman 2. 

Each stage puts you in control of one Robot Master each with their own unique abilities.  Players must utilize the skills available to them to overcome all obstacles and get through all the stages.  As usual for a Megaman game, every stage ends with the boss.

Defeating that boss unlocks the Robot Master you controlled in that stage.  An unlocked RM can be accessed at any time simply by opening the pause menu and selecting them or using the Switch keys.  All the characters use the same energy bar.

CHANGES:

• All eight main stages done.
• Proper save system
• Gemini clones have less health.
• Sparkman is easier.
• Bubbleman's weapon now affects fire-based objects.
• Climb sprites for Flashman, Quickman and Metalman.  Not very good, but that's my spriting for you.
• Metalman's saws now stop upon contact with a solid surface, instead of skidding along.
• Quickman's boomerangs have less range.

BUG FIXES

• Hardman no longer gets caught inside walls.
• The magnet generators now affect the far left side of Magnetman's boss room.
• The blocks in Snakeman's room cannot be stacked up vertically in the left corner anymore.
• Flashman should no longer fall through the Top platforms after time stop ends, or when switching characters.
• Applied another fix to Heatman so he should not get stuck in the ceiling during the Magnetman fight.

NEW CONTENT

PLAYABLE CHARACTERS

• Characters should not fall through solidtop plats when changing characters or when Flashman uses the Time Stopper.
• Airman's wind effect now properly turns off when he is hit
• Crashman's angled bombs should correctly interact with walls, instead of teleporting to the left randomly.
• Crashman's bombs will no longer be twice as loud as they should be sometimes.
• Heatman's normal attack now fires one of its shots straight forward instead of a slight upward arc.
• Heatman should not bug out if he warps into the ceiling
• Quickman's boomerangs have less range.
• Woodman's leaves aren't quite as resistant to some projectiles.
• Changes to hazards in several stages so they work correctly with the Time Stopper.
• Using Time Stop against Sparkman no longer crashes the game.
• Fixed bugs that allowed the Time Stopper to last forever under certain circumstances.
• Bubbleman's weapon can now trap smaller enemy projectiles within it.  Trapped projectiles do not cause damage.
  
• Bubbleman and Heatman weapons will be removed after 3 seconds when thrown upward by weapon redirectors in Shadowman's stage.

GAME CHANGES

• Implemented Cleanmem.dll, just like MKF and SMFR.  The game will not use as much RAM as before.
  
• The Save and Load buttons flicker more noticeably when selected.
• The stage select buttons now show if the secret item has been found within the stage, provided the stage has already been beaten.
• All in game text uses the same spritefont now.
• Small balancing changes to many stages.  Bigger changes to Snakeman's than the others.
• Cutscene text can be with sped up by pressing any key.  This does not apply to the intro cutscene.  Pressing any key skips that one entirely.
• Save screen music is now the MM3 password screen music, not the MM2 one.
• Needleman uses a new special attack at half health.
• The parachute enemies respawn at their original position if they are scrolled offscreen.
• Geminiman clones' health has been reduced by half, and they do not always drop a large health pickup.
• The flickering shields in Needleman's stage will prevent characters from running through them during invincibility frames.
• Garbage blocks now drop down if an object underneath them is destroyed
• The hologram machines in Shadowman's stage now have a death animation like everything else.

BUG FIXES

• Hardman might actually work ok now.  For real this time.
• The invisible walls outside rooms work more reliably
• Topman shouldn't get stuck, or continue moving after the Time Stopper goes into effect.
• Needleman's spiked head is removed if he dies while it is extended.
• Pausing when the screen is obscured no longer removes the effect.
• Fixed a bug that allowed some characters to move through the edge of a ceiling when jumping.
• Fixed a bug where save file 2 and 3 did not load some data correctly.
• The cannons in Needleman's stage no longer shoot backwards if you are behind them.
• It is no longer possible to accidentally waste an E-Tank by using two at the same time.
• Getting hit on top of the green blocks in Snakeman's stage no longer prevents characters from jumping.
• If a boss dies at the exact same moment the player character dies, credit is not given for beating the level.

CHARACTER CHANGES
--------------------

• Characters now behave the same on all difficulties.
• Player characters stop moving vertically when attacking while climbing.
• Airman jumps very slightly higher.
• Airman's attack changed to a rapid fire series of tornadoes.
• Airman cannot jump while attacking.
• Flashman's attack changed to use a preset spread for the bullets, instead of random angles.
• Using the Time Stopper while the screen is obscured will remove the screen obscuring effect.

• The Wily Saucer's bombs can destroy the same objects that Crash Bombs can destroy.
• Most player characters are not knocked backwards as far when they are hit.
• Woodman is knocked backward less than the other characters, and Quickman is knocked back further.
• Holding the up/down arrow keys will grab a ladder when the characters is in range.  You no longer have to worry about pressing the key at the exact right time.

BOSS CHANGES

• Hardman, Topman and Doc Cutman boss fights altered.
• Replaced the boss fights in the Magnetman Revisit stage with new ones.
• Magnetman has a smaller hitbox.
• Remaining directly above Magnetman will cause Magnetman to shoot his magnets upward.
• Shadowman takes less damage and deals less contact damage.
• Needleman takes less damage.
• Needleman's forward jumps have less height.
• Bosses weak to Flashman are now properly frozen by the Time Stopper.
• Many bosses have a secondary, smaller weakness.
• Reduced bosses' mercy time after being hit.
• Bomb Tops are removed when Doc Bombman dies.

• Player characters no longer jitter when on a moving platform that just changed direction.
• Normal enemies now have weaknesses to certain weapons.
• E-Tanks no longer respawn multiple times within the same stage.  Leaving and re-entering a stage will respawn the E-Tanks.
• Pressing the pause button will immediately exit the ingame menu.
• When the secondary window pops up to choose between a normal or Revisit stage, an icon will appear under each stage button if the secret item has been found in that particular stage.

MISC BUG FIXES

• The Stage Select and normal boss music tracks now loop correctly.
• Flashman's bullets appear at the proper height when he shoots while climbing.
• Heatman can no longer use the Heat Teleport when he should be immobile.
• Heatman's fire pillar hitbox has been fixed.
• Woodman's leaf shield no longer vanishes if the center of it goes above the screen.
• Hardman Revisit's final gate now closes correctly.
• Bubbleman's wep should always kill fire-type objects.
• Timestop is removed once Flashman switches out or a stage ends.
• Needleman's headspike is now properly positioned.
• Pausing while jumping no longer creates an infinite height jump.
• Pausing while in a character's attack animation no longer freezes them that way.
• Changing characters removes the previous character's weapons from the screen.
• Player characters should no longer get stuck outside the screen during the second Doc Gutsman boss fight.
• If the Gutsdozer runs over a player character, they are no longer pushed on top of it.
• Fixed a slight glitch in the Bouncer enemy's sprites.
• Changed the appearance of Magnetman's pre-boss room slightly.
