MKF General Discussion Posting Guidelines

1.) READ THE FAQ BEFORE POSTING. If you have a question about MKF in general, chances are it is answered in the FAQ.

2.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW CHARACTERS. MKF already has so many characters planned, plus a whole lot more that are unfinished.

3.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW ENEMIES. As of July 2010, the MKF Dev team is focused on getting the game done, not adding any more unnecessary extra enemies.

4.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW GAME FEATURES. THIS INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: POWER-UPS, SUITS, LEVELS, AND GAME MODES. As noted above, the team is focused on getting the game done.

5.) DO NOT POST BUG REPORTS HERE. The MKF Bug Tracker is the place to do so.

6.)DO NOT ASK ABOUT RELEASE DATES FOR THE NEXT VERSION. We do not give out release dates. Why? If we announce a date and we miss it, people will get disappointed. New versions will be released as they get done.

Any post that contains any of these things will be binned on sight.

Here is another go at Abomination, tried to make it practical for making in sprite form.



The head is split between Ganon and Bowser, with the lower jaw resembling Ridley, Mewtwo's ears, a bit of Eggman's moustache and glasses, Wily's hair on the left, Dracula's cape and Laft Arm, Bowser's Right arm, Zero as the body with the bottom ripped open to reveal all the villians tails. The cape ends in Zero Two's wings and feathers, and above it is Zero's Halo...

What do you think?

Are we going for pig Ganon or the more human Ganondorf? I think this might need to wait until we settle on designs for everyone involved.

As far as the drawing goes, I like it, but it still seems a bit too orderly for me. I figured Abomination would look more like a twisted nightmare, as opposed to parts of the villains combined into something only vaguely creepy.

The pose is more stiff than I was hoping for, but since most of it was improvised on the spot, I didn't have very many options. I also didn't spend too much time fixing, so it's a pretty rough sketch.

I think this is our biggest problem right here.  Am I the only one who thinks that "twisted nightmare" and "easy to sprite" are mutually exclusive concepts?  We're going to have to pick one or the other; maybe our first step should be deciding which one is more important.

Our "first step" is finishing the rest of the game up to World 0 first. Seriously, it's still too early to really be contemplating the details of the final boss fight.

Who said you had to? Hell, if anything I'd probably end up spriting the thing myself. Not like I'll really have anything else left to do by the time we're ready to work on it.

I could probably sprite it. Although the layout for the fight would obviously have to be finalized first.

And yes, it may be early on to be planning the final boss, but does it really matter when everything is done as long as it is at some point? At least that's how I see it.

Eh, I don't really like it. While it looks kind of cool, I don't think it fits the plans for Abomination. First of all, Legion isn't part of the Abomination. He's already a massive assimilation of multiple entities, if you threw him in there it wouldn't be Abomination, just a different form of Legion.
Second, you seem to have just taken one part from each of the Villain Alliance and pieced them all together into a completely new entity. The Abomination is supposed to be a mass, twisted conglomeration of minds and bodies, all one entity but with each personality still mostly intact. Also you didn't actually use any parts of Wily or Robotnik- you just used parts of their machines, and machines that we haven't even decided that they'll actually use at all.
It just seems like it's pieced together too cleanly to work, too symmetrically. It should be a lot more chaotic- a monstrous amalgamation of villain parts.
Also, you forgot Mewtwo.
