MKF General Discussion Posting Guidelines

1.) READ THE FAQ BEFORE POSTING. If you have a question about MKF in general, chances are it is answered in the FAQ.

2.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW CHARACTERS. MKF already has so many characters planned, plus a whole lot more that are unfinished.

3.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW ENEMIES. As of July 2010, the MKF Dev team is focused on getting the game done, not adding any more unnecessary extra enemies.

4.) DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW GAME FEATURES. THIS INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: POWER-UPS, SUITS, LEVELS, AND GAME MODES. As noted above, the team is focused on getting the game done.

5.) DO NOT POST BUG REPORTS HERE. The MKF Bug Tracker is the place to do so.

6.)DO NOT ASK ABOUT RELEASE DATES FOR THE NEXT VERSION. We do not give out release dates. Why? If we announce a date and we miss it, people will get disappointed. New versions will be released as they get done.

Any post that contains any of these things will be binned on sight.

« on: September 24, 2011, 11:33:56 am »
Okay,I honestly don't mean to sound like an idiot or anything.I'm JUST curious but, question - Are we allowed to make our own characters, levels, enemies, bosses, items, or ANYTHING for that matter? As I at least want to know if we have permission to create or not,so please don't critize me,I just wanted to know if we have the rights to create.I haven't yet found my answer,so please answer positively,I JUST want the answer.I have many kinds of ideas for custom things for MKF that I'll list once I get my answer.I'm also fine without being able to create my custom things for MKF,so please answer. So,GOOD DAY!  :coy:                                                                                                                                                                                             Also,I know that my answers will be at the FAQ,but I couldn't seem to post my question there,so that explains why I made a new topic on here coming from my question.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Oh & one more thing,I'm NOT suggesting any characters, levels, items,or any of that just so ya know,& that lead to my curiousity on anyone having the permission to create anything for MKF,just so you know,so Later. :)                                                                                                                                                                                                                        EDIT:Thank you guys(& gals) very much! I really wanted the answer,so thank you very,VERY much for answering me,now I won't end up making mistakes. Besides custom elements,I'll also make skins for the many characters,NPCs,& all that other stuff. I'm still sooooooo grateful for the answer. THANK YOU ALL! ;D  :D  B)

It's not likely that the developers will accept anything new.  They want to focus on finishing what they have planned.

We aren't accepting new characters, but you are welcome to make skins. If you make a stage and it's good we'll probably take it. No Mario stages though. If you have any further questions ask away. This applies to everybody.

You can make anything you want. It just probably won't be included. Unless it ends up being super awesome and the team finds that they have an empty slot to plug it into.

You could just make it anyway and it might end up in an unofficial level pack.  Enough levels have been cancelled or cut from MKF that there will probably be at least one of those.

You can make anything you want for MKF. There's just no guarantee that it will get accepted at all.
In terms of characters, powerups, etc., those definitely aren't getting in, but we're not going to stop you from making them for your own personal use, or letting other people play with them.

As for other things, like levels, bosses, enemies, objects, etc., those might have a small chance. It depends on things like whether it's any good, we have room for it, how much space it takes up, etc. etc. Once again there's no guarantee, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

I know you & the rest of the MKF team doesn't accept characters,so that's why I'll pretty much make characters that are independent from the game it self, the characters optional to download,so that's hopefully okay besides making character skins,is it? As for levels,I don't ever plan on making Mario stages though, only stages with other kinds of themes outside the Mario series & if it's accepted, then I'll allow it to be in the game,is that also okay? And lastly, does our rights to make custom stuff & levels independent from the game itself & optional to download apply to Super Mario Fusion Revival as well or only applies to MKF?

It's not likely that the developers will accept anything new.  They want to focus on finishing what they have planned.
I wasn't going to make custom stuff for the main game, just independent from it & optional to download (for myself & the other players to download & enjoy for themselves as well). The custom stuff downloadable into the game was mainly made for the other players to enjoy, not really for the team to accept & put into the game (unless of course they want to,then I'll let them put it into the game). So they can obviously focus on finishing the game,I won't get in their way. :)         I only wanted to at least try to help keep the players  from getting bored of MKF,so when they all beat the game & unlock everything, they can download this stuff into the game & stay entertained with the game. :J

Personal use & everyone using it for fun was mainly the reason why I wanted to create stuff functionable,& independent from the game. I haven't made them to be accepted into the game by the team, but if they accept it then they have permission to put it in the game.  :)  When making the custom stuff,I'll try my BEST to not make it take up too much space & make it functionable in the game. I'm glad & thankful to have permission to make anything for MKF. :D  Thanks MKF Team, you all are awesome!  B)

You can make anything you want. It just probably won't be included. Unless it ends up being super awesome and the team finds that they have an empty slot to plug it into.
Of course, what ever I make is meant to keep the players happy. But if the team likes any of the stuff I make, then they'll instantly have the rights to put it in,only if they WANT to though.

You could just make it anyway and it might end up in an unofficial level pack.  Enough levels have been cancelled or cut from MKF that there will probably be at least one of those.
I understand, the stuff that I make are made unofficial & apart from the main game, like I said before. When I release any stuff I make, then anyone can download it into the game & have fun with it.Simple as that.  :D

Qu is right. Posting that many times in a row isn't necessary. And you have clearly edited your other posts. Next time, if you want to respond to the things that others said, just do so in one post and not 5 separate posts AND the main post.

Consider this a warning.

I think he did all those posts because he wanted to quote all of those other posts, so he went to each one and clicked the "Quote" button.
Just so you know, Theawesomegamer, it is possible to quote more that one post in the same reply.  You just have to enter the tags manually.

If you have the ability go for it!!

A couple members of the community HAVE made their own characters whom'll never make it into the game, but can easily be shared using the public source copies of the game!

Mushroom Kingdom Fusion Skinmods, for those of you who think the game still doesn't have enough variety! ;)

Huh, didn't know that.  That could be useful.  You learn something new every day, I guess.

I have a question regarding Permissions.

I posted a suggestion and sprite sheet of what could be a World Boss in Mobius, but it was put in the garbage bin.

I have no idea what world bossesare decided upon, and would need more knowledge on what is allowed to brianstorm upon before being thrown in the dump... again...

First, this topic has little to do with your suggestions; it has to do with programming things into MKF--and doesn't even have to be in the official version of the game.

Second, your topic was binned because it is written in big letters at the top of each page in this forum: "DO NOT POST SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW CHARACTERS ... ENEMIES ... [AND] GAME FEATURES."

Unless you want to discuss something that the developers have explicitly given the green light on (e.g. Abomination Concepts), you are not allowed to suggest it under any circumstances whatsoever.

If you had read through this topic, you would have seen that suggested material has a very low chance of getting in the game if you make it yourself by coding it. Unless you intend to do that (which, as I said, has very little possibility of getting in the game), you might as well keep your peace as far as new MKF content goes.

Spend your brainstorming on a project that is more likely to use your suggestions.
