Wait... The creator of Distorted Travesty was here this entire time and I never noticed? Gods I am blind...

So I was wondering, is anything outside of this accessible in the current beta?

Aside from any rooms I have not been in, I have basically done everything there is to do currently.

The map you have highlighted in the screenshot has an area reachable in the current demo, though there isn't much.

OH! I see now. Did not notice before that throwing a bomb gives a slight boost in midair... Too bad that can't be used to access the upper portions of the town.

Well roacow has moved on to DT2. Now that it's had patches and new stages added to it.

Here's his first couple of videos:

On a related note, I think Slit and a friend of his are also doing an LP of an earlier Distorted Travesty 2, this one with the significantly more difficult final stage but none of the bonus stages.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see an LP of Distorted Travesty 3 for quite some time, considering I think he usually prefers to play through finished games, as opposed to demos.  Eh, I can wait.  :P

Hey there guys,

I uploaded a complete LP of Distorted Travesty 2 on my English channel. It is not a 100 % LP by any means as I do not like Time Trials at all. I just play through the  game:

Nice game, I like it so far. Pretty cool to have a gaming site where there is a thread about lots of other fun games to try out and talk about.
The only thing I'm wondering, it doesn't make any sound nor music. I just recently dowloaded and unpacked the .rar and did nothing else about it, no idea why it wouldn't play the music, and it doesn't say anything about it in the FAQ or Manual or anywhere. Did this occur to somebody else? Thought I might as wellask this here, once the creator is here and all.

I've read of others that don't have sound/music, but I'm unsure of what's happening. The exe just needs to be run from inside the Distorted Travesty root folder where the music/sound folders are, but you said you didn't do anything else after unpacking it.

This is just a random thought, but try putting the root folder in Program Files. I've heard of others that couldn't get the game to run on Windows 7 unless it was run from there.

Ah yes, this indeed works. There is a message at the bottom that it loads extern data, it didnt do that when it wasnt in that folder.

I like the gameplay, but the difficulty is a bit too much for me. I actually had to switch down to Beginner on the Quick Time Machine. The biggest threat are the traps nonetheless, really, the difficulty on those sequences just goes up to a point where it is already annoying. Im not sure if I am even able to ever pass that parcours in the data segment where you have to jump and run through in crazy speed while avoiding onehitting spikes and snipe-jumping on tiny platforms in order to not get flashed by he colourwheels. The worst is the last one with the four switches though, I have no idea how to hit those in time, no idea at all.

I wanted to play the sequels too, but reading here it just gets continuously harder does discourage me a bit.

Don't worry, by the time you reach points of changing difficulty, you should be adequately strengthened to take them on.

It's an interview with Zephyrburst. Most of you are probably already aware of it from his blog post. I don't know how I failed to post it here sooner.

Oh, and embarrassingly I mispelled Raocow's name.

Chapter 3's Metroidvania section is rather annoying, but not for the exploration. It's actually annoying because of the platform hell it's got.

I still can't get through Castle Courtyard F. How on earth are you supposed to get to the other side, without an air dash?
