Videos look fantastic as always!

So, raocow has reached Black Rock Fortress.  Poor guy doesn't know what he's about to get into.

On second thought, he might.  He's been doing really well so far, this being his first playthrough.

Which videos do you mean Din? :P
Yeah, raocow makes a fantastic job so far. I love his playthrough/ LP. He makes some funny comments and is pretty muich always happy (aside from that one video in the West Side Jungle).
Let's see how good he will be at the BRF.

Okay, I want you guys keep updated.
In all that time I continued recording and uploading DT videos.
Here's the playlist:

If you do not want to watch all the parts that you missed, you might want to start watching from this video:

Part 70: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWJAI-ImF38&list=PLF97B48C3BA995B3F&index=71&feature=plpp_video

Part 71: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkaegUyotyo&list=PLF97B48C3BA995B3F&index=72&feature=plpp_video

On another note, expect an update of the DT 3 demo pretty soon. :)

Both yours and raocows!  :P

And I'm very much looking forward to that update!  I finally managed to complete just about all the content in the current demo (bonus Gate A included, though I missed a few heart pieces) and I'm looking forward to putting my skills to the test again.

And man, this game seems to have become a lot more popular as of recently.  Apparently, dsc isn't the only one who has completed Distorted mode anymore.  The raocow LP is probably to thank for that.

Yep,  it will be awesome.
Keep in mind that you should also test Gate C since it cold be easily overseen. Also, if you think Gate A was hard, look forward to Gate C.  :smug:
Anyways congrats on finishing Gate A!

Looks like the demo has been released!

I'll have to wait until tomorrow to download it, though.

(And you're right, apparently Gate C in the demo, according to ZephyrBurst IS harder than Gate A.  Whelp, I'm scared now.  :P)

It JUST occurred to me that I finally have the chance to play this, seeing that I have my own computer and all. Of all the times I was told to play this, I finally am. Well guys, you got what you wanted.

Chapter 7 is incredible so far.  Unfortunately, I don't know the game this place is from, but I know that the enemies here take the Goodamned Bats trope to a whole new level.  :P

Unfortunately, I won't have access to internet for the next, er, week or so, so I won't be able to give regular reports, but I'll spend time playing it until then.  While I still find the Adventure of Link chapter to be my favorite, this place is still fantastically fun.

Before I head off, I just have to point out a silly bug I found.  In the room in the temple that requires the character barriers to be used to block enemy fire, as it turns out the shield destroys not just projectiles, but ball and chains as well.  Not sure if that was intentional or not, but I found it pretty hilarious.

It has been quiet in this thread as of late.

That is a super awesome bug. In the game's current state, (at least the version you have) the shield will take out any trap object, including spikes and lava. Yay for 1 line bug fixes though. Go ahead and exploit it while it's there. :P

Glad that Ch.7 is enjoyable. Personally it's my favorite, but I can see why the Zelda level is the fan fave. Recently I've gotten a ton of feedback on it. Lots of little things people found somewhat annoying, but legit concerns.

Oh yes, that area is based on Wonder Boy in Monster World.

Alright! First game down! Time to move on to the second. Wait, did I say the second? I meant the third.

...And to think that I was missing out on all this.

Pssh, only a C rank. XD

When you find a bug as cool as that, you should consider finding a way to make it part of the final cut. If nothing more then a power-up received too late to actually be useful.

Well, it took a lot longer than expected, but I finally made it through the second demo.  I'm certainly noticing a climb in difficulty, but the game remains fair in its challenges.  (Though I have to admit, for that brutal underwater teamwork room, I had to use up a Miracle Cure to make it through, and even then I failed many times.  Eh, that's life.  :P)

The part that I probably had the most difficulty with was, strangely enough, the segment after the temple.  That might be because after making it through the boss, I just wanted to be done with that evil (though very well-designed and fun) temple.  And for a while, all seemed well, and then OH GOD BOULDERS.  I didn't expect my death count to skyrocket so much, and that was when I was lucky enough to have a crutch in a spare Miracle Cure (I think that was the full health potion's name).

After that, the rest of the chapter was pretty manageable.  Encounter right before the gate wasn't too hard, and the beginning of the gate itself was cake.

Could I make a tiny suggestion?  Internetz.  There were almost too many in DT 1, so I'm glad the numbers were cut down, but it's actually annoying trying to get enough money to get good items.  I literally had to grind for about two hours straight (the little easter egg message even showed up) via chaining enemies in order to get enough money to buy simple (600 internetz or so) equipment.  I even got Jerry's sword up to Level 3 as I was grinding away.  I'd love it if there was even a really, really faint chance of getting a blue Internetz without having to chain enemies.  If I'm not specifically grinding, I get only about a hundred or so internetz in a trip through a gate.

I haven't completed Gate C yet.  I know enough about it, though, to know that I'm not touching it with a twenty-five-and-a-half-foot pole until I'm armed to the teeth with weapons, consumables, and AP.

Yeah, the money thing will definitely be addressed. Right now, everything just has some price set to see how it all flows and what I need to set them to. The prices will go up and down for various items, mostly down, for the final version. The Force Armor, set to 1100, which provides +1 protection from all sources will most likely not change. That's a significant defense boost, even toward the end. The most damage you'll ever see from standard enemies is about 10. (2.5 hearts)

Although, like Metropolis, Gate 4 is pretty great for getting money, and there's quite a few chests hidden around. (Too bad it's locked for the demo.) :P

The health items went back to DT1 as well, in that when used and you lose on the same map, you get it back. Slaix has been yelling at me to change that back for months. I may release a patch on the demo for that sometime in the future. The scan window section for weakness/resists was changed up, as well as the damage pop up colors. It makes way more sense now, rather than having to remember what the mess a red dot means.
Too many ponies.
