 ;)Hey guys. Just showing some preview beta skins i've done or tweaked. Made quite a few adjustments plus the videos this time are done on a better recording program. No more of the lame lagging effect. Sorry the now sound i'll have to try recording back on xp at some time. Either way this video shows much more clearly what they look like. I'm hoping that i can get this program to record using larger dimension(still learning it)that way the videos are clearer. Ok so here' s the previews, i may add more too:

Several adjustments inparticular to both sypha's have been made. hoody sypha, the most notable, now has a walking animations near completion(wip), and  a stance(still needs some tweaking). Also hoody and hair version sypha have newer stairs up and down cape animations. They are more believable now and don't flop like the wind is about to gust her away. Also i fixed one or 2 cape animatons on her hair running  skin. I would like to have made sypha hoody have her nes style attack but it would conflict with code to Hair sotn style sypha(their may be a workaround with the weapon sprites though). Honestly, her attack using alucard's morph is much more effecient than the original, which due to code constraints with other players, would need to be tweaked. I would like to make hers and alucard's duck animations have more frames,but this too would mean altering ducking code probably for all players. Well either way here is what i've come up with so far!  :lol:

Those look pretty smooth.  Grant's dagger thrust looks a little awkward, but that might just be me.

Sweet job.  They look great.  And I was just wondering if this project died too.
I enjoy putting myself in exotic and awesome environments, then I make people play fan generated games they never knew existed.

@ TheomanzeroIdk Grant seems good overall. His attack stance when he thrust forward i tweaked a while back cause he was not hunched enough when attacking. Maybe his upgrade sword could be slashing instead of stabbing, but then again thats what grant sorta does. I think honestly the gameplay for him is smoother than a video can show. His controls like alucard's are a bit tricky in certain areas for sure. @ChaosTiki As for the project i really haven't a clue. Obreck is very hard to contact. He does have the most recent engine. I tweaked some stuff for the him, i think he last talked about coding in the ghosthip bosses and putting a bunch of enemies in for levels,but then again that was a while ago. I guess it's sorta up to him. I have some extra enemies i've coded in but i didnt put them in gameplay. The black panther i figured out how to code and also those invincible fuzzies that move around platform blocks. Yeah i suppose i could add them in. I attempted the forest spiders but they aren't coded accurately enough. Flame man i did code in but i do not know how to add trailing flames that hurt you. ??? If anyone hears anything from Obreck lemme know. I defitenly could give him some update sprites.

nice job las. im impressed with what you've done. you also made hooded sypha look even better since the time i started work on her. as for this project, i will not say that its dead. in fact its well alive. we are waiting on obreck to return but it still hasnt slowed down our works for the game. @ Las, thanx for being adament by continuing the tweaks on things that are needed. once again im impressed keep up the good work. oh yeah, I think we should start work on the moat bridge soon. I have the design for it layed out already, we just need to incorporate it in the engine which isnt going to be any problem. ;)

I thought there was no telling what happened to you guys. Nice work on this glorious remake but I'd do something about the score showing up on game window.

Yeah at one point on the first demo from ions ago you could switch the hud on and off. Right now it's shut off also i believe their's an option in the source that would let you turn off the score aswell. Up to Obreck if this will be available in the options menu for people to choose. As for now about the project it's hard to say really, guess that is depends on Obrecks return. Hopefully things are ok. For now i'm just trying to polish up some things up player wise.

Well, that's a good way to spend the time until he returns.  It'll be nice for him if he comes back to a better game than he left.

Yeah i hope he comes back soon. :) The game thus far has alot of pluses and he codes really well. There's only a small handful of glitches i found but nothing that isn't easily fixable. I can give him a list(already posted earlier on the forum). Overall though the game/levels seem to be pretty challenging. I talked to him a while back and he said he was gonna hash some of the atlantis level to the tower level cause of atlantis's great length and the tower levels shortness. Past that and some enemies and bosses he was gonna code in i heard very little. :yes: I do know he wishes more people were particapating in on the project. Level building,spriting and what not. However when you flip the coin it all depends on when he's back and motivated enough for the project. I know a great deal about the engine so i can in turn teach team members how to design levels. It is really not that complicated. I assume he uses gm 8 pro which works fine. It may depend on his decisions as to who he wants to level build. Like i said, that would be his decision. As for our wait on his return, well i do know some personal issues have come up for him so i hope everything is alright. Maybe he could set a return time for us, so as to let people know when he's coming back. I'd say some notification at the very least would be doable. As for others getting involved, that's up to him and them. I built 3 levels and have been tweaking players and their codes so things are efficient. Obreck also has the latest source(not all the latest sprites updates though from the videos).

Definaltely glad to hear that it is alive.  I cant wait for this game to take more shape so I can enjoy it along side of the Castlevania II remake that was pointed out on another forum. 

Unfortunately I have no real coding or spriting talents.

Yeah well let's hope it's alive. That depends on Obreck's motivation towards the project. As for that other game CV2 remake. Yeah it's not bad. A well designed game that has alot of new enemies sprited up by someone(????) they aren't in konami games i can tell you that. 16 bit revamp baddies. I actually gave him one of the flame man for his game. BUt it's also for this one two. Actually it's ironic i was able to code flame man in but unfortuently i have not been able to make it so he leaves a trail of fire. Either way he was always a creepy enemy. My only thing with him is they outta make him so he is running at you on fire and have him screaming. This would make more sense. But in essence i had an idea for that too. Just things we could try. Overall that CV2 game is really good(haven't played it all the way through yet) but the one thing i wish the creator of it did is fix the controls for simon. They are sorta hard to handle. If they were more like this game it would be more awesome. That's my only critique on that game, otherwise it's a brilliant remake especially with Jorge's Simon as opposed to red richter.

On another note i made a couple of flame man gifs. One is from back in the day(though maybe he could use more flames). He's from a chosen une color edit. The other i just made to day. It is a man on fire running. Here they are:

Yeah i just need to figure out the flame spouting behind him and he'll be golden.  Yeah i agree i got the concept late  last night and made him early this morning. Also  i got an idea of a screaming sound that could be used for his sound effect.  B)

Update!!!!:

Ok so without reposting. I thought i'd show you a video of  cool coded stuff in a tweak version engine. Here it is:

What i have here in this video is a coded panther(almost complete),fuzzy entity(perfect, you can't harm them they can harm you, wth are they called???)flame man(perfect),mummy men(damn near their), and spiders(still needs some work). Well to be honest the panther is almost there. I have not yet been ablet to put in his death yet( or i haven' gotten to it i forget). Plus you can't hurt him while he's in ambush mode. However he runs at you like in cv nes version. For the flame man he's coded in perfect. Exactly how he is in cv3 nes version. He runs and hurts you, while leaving a trail that also stays shortly and hurts you unless you whip it. The code is taken from the gremlin and slightly altered. Works great! The mummy mean are almost perfect. the only thing that is needed is for them to be summoned by lightning. Past that they are working great. Also the spiders are a bit tricky. I took some exapmles of code i found an put them into it for shooting. I could only find random shooting which makes his AI better(harder) but it's not exaclty like cv3 nes version. Where he comes down and shoots at you. Also though it's not too visible he unfortuenty shoots from anywhere while in his up and down his spindle pattern. He will somehow need to shoot only at the down most part. The random shot is sorta cool but it might be nice to get him like the nes version. Another known fact is bosses like medusa or akmodon seem pretty good overall on say hard mode, but on easy mode they don't function right. I'm not exactly sure what part of what code alters that. They should be normal on all modes of diffuculty. Either way just showing off some tested code here. I'm sure quite a bit of what i did needs to be altered and i wish i knew what i was doing more coding wise.  Also for some reason the program i use(free) camstudio has issues with avi and sometimes flash. Sometimes things come out weird when transfering to youtube. When i took this video you can clearly see flame man and his flames and the fact they hurt you when alucard touched them, but the video got messed up when transfer the mp4 to youtube??? Idk why? Flame man totally works 100% i assure you.Also sorry but it's hard to see the black panther in this level. Maybe i shoulda tested them in  a diffrent one. well look close and you'll see where they are. Well for now enjoy! ^_^
