SMFR Public Storyline (very outdated)
« on: August 02, 2011, 09:16:40 PM »
This is the public version of the plot for SMF:R. In this topic, I will go over the basic premise of each World, but I am leaving out a lot. Keep in mind, I am not conforming the storyline to meet anybody's standards (except the dev team.) So don't expect me to take any suggestions. And I am not doing this to be a hard ass, I am doing this because I really don't want to bloat the storyline.

World 1: The Mushroom Kingdom.
The story begins with Bowser sitting in his castle, feeling gloomy after being defeated once again by Mario, when out of nowhere a green orb falls from the sky, into his castle. From here, Bowser uses the power of the orb to kidnap Peach and spread his forces across the Mushroom Kingdom. The Mario Bros are quickly called upon by Toadsworth, who asks the Bros to rescue Peach. However, Toadsworth is not alone as Tellah (from FF4), tells the Bros to retrieve the orb from Bowser's grasp, as it contains a powerful magic that should not fall into the wrong hands. Toadsworth and Tellah then send off the Bros and Toad to go and complete their task. However, Wario and Waluigi have heard of the plot to retrieve Peach and the orb and have decided to get the orb for themselves.

Midway through their journey, the Bros and Toad come across a person known only as, "The Shade." The person tells the Bros and Toad to turn back now, for their quest is meaningless and will only bring everyone great despair. The Bros and Toad ignore The Shade and continue their quest.

Upon arriving at Bowser's Keep, the Bros and Toad notice that Bowser has new found powers that allow him to control time. With Bowser holding time in his hands, Wario and Waluigi trailing close behind the Bros and Toad, and The Shade threatening misfortune, what will happen as the plot to the Mushroom Kingdom draws to a close?

World 2: Terra Alternata.
After certain events take place in The Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and company make their way to Terra Alternata, by accident. Here, Mario regroups with his brother and Toad, but now also has Peach and Waluigi fighting by his side. Wario and Bowser have turned up missing, but are soon found fighting over the green orb. They don't fight for long, as moments later, the rebel army comes into the fray to try to steal the orb. To the dismay of everyone, the Mars People come in and capture Bowser and the green orb. The Rebel Army then kidnaps Wario for further questioning, leaving Mario and the others to go and save them. Before they leave, the Regular army steps in and Marco and Tarma introduce themselves.

They tell Mario and others that the Mars people have invaded Terra Alternata, and is currently trying to hold The President and General Morden for ransom, with the exchange being the conquering of Terra Alternata. The Regular Army tasks Mario and company to rescue Wario from the Rebels, to stop the Rebels advances in causing a massive war with the Regular army for their weaponry, and to take out the Mars people.

With the Mars People in control of the green and yellow orbs, the Rebel Army attacking everything that moves, and Wario and Bowser missing, just how will things turn out for Terra Alternata?

World 3: Ocean of Oblivion.
Once the second world is completed, all of the heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom have been sucked into the Ocean of Oblivion. Here, the Ocean owns the land and air, with only a few land masses noticeable. Amongst these land masses stands a tall castle. Before our heroes can swim to it, a large wave throws them into the hull of a semi-sunken ship. In an instant, the ship begins to sink and our heroes fight for their lives to escape. Once free, they begin a long and perilous journey to the large castle.

In the midst of the ocean, they come across a small piece of land with a house on it. Inside rests the spirits of those who could not survive the ocean. In the main bedroom, our heroes find a small girl named May, who tells the tragic story of Lord Undine, a man who was completely maddened by the death of his wife. She tells them that he plans on harvesting the souls of those who still survive in the ocean  and that soon, they will be next.

After they leave the house, they return to their journey, only to discover that The Shade has told Lord Undine of the location of the heroes, and Lord Undine has plans for them. He then dispatches his most loyal of followers to dispatch of them. As well, the mysterious being mentions that a mythical beast lies in a comatose state, deep inside a trench. The beast, if awakened, could easily round up all the remaining people who still live, making them easier to harvest.

With two deadly followers closing in on our heroes, a maddened Lord willing to steal souls from the living, and a mythical beast on the verge of reawakening, what will surely happen in the Ocean of Oblivion?

World 4: Di Yu.
Within the very moments of entering Di Yu, Mario is captured by The Shade, who quickly makes off. Luigi falls into a state of panic and begins to ignore others around him to set off to find Mario. The others begin to follow, but Bowser tells them to be careful, as he has heard of this place before. Once his words are spoken, Wario begins to question Bowser’s motives.

Midway through their trek through the hellish wastelands, the group of only five come across a town known as Brill, a town that was once teeming with life, now turned into a final resting place for the dead. Inside this town, a group known as the Forsaken, tries to “live” their “lives” in eternal damnation, only finding it harder and harder each passing day. One forsaken approaches the group, and tells them that he saw Mario being whisked away by the Shade. He mentions of a Marine who crossed the River of Styx, in an attempt to follow the Shade into the mysterious Hellfire Citadel. When asked who is in charge of the citadel, the forsaken male begrudgingly says the name, “Yim Lau Wong.”

Based on the ancient Chinese belief of, “Yama,” Yim Lau Wong sits high atop his citadel, watching all those damned suffer more and more each passing day. The Shade brings him Mario, who Yim Lau Wong believes will be a perfect sacrifice to amplify his powers and make the suffering of all the denizens of Di Yu even more unbearable.

With Yim Lau Wong wanting suffering to be even more intolerable, Mario potentially being sacrificed, and a growing tension between Wario and Bowser, what more horrors could possibly await our heroes within Di Yu?

World 5: Midgard.
Upon immediate arrival, all of our heroes are imprisoned. The King of Oasis orders his guards to bring him those who he believes are minions of Silver Armlet, so he can scold and sentence them to potential death for conspiring with the enemy. Toad, a normally obedient follower, verbally lashes the King, which moves the King in a way he hadn’t seen in a long time. Touched, the King let’s the heroes go, but orders them to an immediate mission: Find Prince Ali.

After traveling through tumultuous jungles, rivers, factories, and even trains, the heroes come across a wrecked city, where Prince Ali is found to be barely living. After being resuscitated, Prince Ali makes mention of how Silver Armlet is looking for an Orange Orb, which is said to hold the strength of millions of strong men. He mentions that she also has several bodyguards at her disposal, ready to kill in her name with zero remorse. He tells the heroes to find her quickly before she finds the orb.

As they trail Silver Armlet closely, the heroes come across several obstacles, most notably, several of Silver Armlet’s minions. While trying to take care of the minions, the Shade catches up to Silver Armlet and tells her the exact location of the Orange Orb. She mentions that because of him, her dreams of reviving the fallen wizard, Agito, will finally come true. With him reborn, they could easily devour Midgard and claim it in their names.

With the orange orb within Silver Armlet’s reach, a number of minions holding our heroes back, and the threat of total destruction of Midgard nigh, just what will become of the fantasy based world?

World 6: Outer Nebula.
Luigi and Toad are both missing!  To make matters worse, before Mario and his friends can go to search for them, General Pepper, commander of the Great Fox, is leading a full fledged force against Andross’ growing army and a new threat, Bacterion. He immediately dispatches the heroes to take down numerous allies of both Andross and Bacterion, in hopes of neutralizing the threat early. After taking down a few posts, it is revealed that Andross and Bacterion are not working together and instead, are fighting over the Purple Orb. The orb, thus far, has attracted the Covenant to Andross’ army and the Bydo to Bacterion’s.

The UNSC, normally conserved to their part of the galaxy because of the Covenant, has come into an alliance with General Pepper and the Gradius Army. The newfound alliance begins to deliberate their next course of action, but is immediately thrown off by an attack on a UNSC ship, led by none other than The Shade, who does so in the names of both Andross and Bacterion. Pepper orders for the immediate deaths of both Andross and Bacterion. However, it is revealed that both of them apparently have the orb and are constantly gaining more allies, with Andross gaining Star Wolf and Bacterion gaining the Flood. Now, all three factions vie for control of Outer Nebula.

With Andross and Bacterion at each others throats, their minions taking care of any opposition, and the disappearance of both Luigi and Toad, what will happen when all these worlds collide within the Outer Nebula?

World 7: The Shadow Plateau.
With all six orbs within the hands of our heroes, Tellah mentions to them that they are now able to return to the Shadow Plateau. With the use of the orbs, The Enigma stands no chance at survival. But something is amiss, as The Enigma has never shown a direct attack on anyone. To make matters even more obscure, is that The Shade is nowhere to be seen in the Shadow Plateau.

As the story draws to a close, what becomes of our heroes, Tellah, and The Enigma?

This is very outdated. As soon as I get in contact with Mr. D, I will ask him if this should be taken down until we completely rewrite the story.
